CORPORATE SOCIAL GOVERNANCE There is great emphasis now on companies greening their supply chains. We are able to respond positively thanks to all the measures we have taken over the years.Clients can be confident that, should they be asked for their ecological footprint, our part will be the smallest possible. With no company cars and with a sedum grass roof in place plus a recycling system we really have been the greenest freight forwarder for many years. Now we are taking things a step further by swapping our oil burning boilers for a wood pellet boiler. It is estimated that in the U.K. over10m tonnes of sawdust goes to landfill every year. This creates dangerous methane. By burning wood pellets made from this sawdust not only are we no longer emitting carbon by burning fossil fuel, we are actively tackling the landfill/methane problem. |
