Full loads
We can provide driver-accompanied full load services on most routes to and from Western and Eastern Europe . This would mean dedicated trucks exclusively for a shipper’s cargo, whether dry, hazardous or temperature controlled. Typical routes might be Milan to Moscow, London to Kiev, Hamburg to Pristina, Gibraltar to Skopje, Limerick to Bucharest.

Wide loads
As can be seen elsewhere on the website we are able to organise the transport of oversized and overweight cargo including the provision of escorts and all necessary permits.

Part loads
On the bulk of routes we can provide an on-wheels collection service for smaller consignments of a few hundred kilos or a few tonnes. Generally we can collect within 24 to 48 hours of instruction.

Customs clearance
For goods shipping to or from countries outside the EU we can offer furnishing of entries for H.M. Customs.  

Containers
For all worldwide destinations we can arrange collection and delivery of line or shipper’s own containers whether 20’, 40’ or 45’  standard or high top.                                                                                                    

Vehicles
For the shipping of backhoe loaders, cars, vans pick-ups and lightweight trucks we are at your disposal.

Humanitarian Aid 
Known for forwarding work carried out in Bosnia and Kosovo, John Shirley Ltd is ready to provide assistance to aid and reconstruction bodies elsewhere in the world.

John Shirley has at hand tied and trusted hauliers who are not only experienced at working in difficult conditions but also ones that used to carry enormous quantities of aid construction materials.

Our experience working in theatres of war and the rebuilds that take place afterwards is second to none. We have arranged shipments of all kinds of aid including hundreds of tonnes of flour, cooking oil, pasta, baby boxes, water purification equipment, clothing, bailey bridges, transformers, cables, forest tractors, stone crushers, pipes and so on. ITALY - a case study:
In 1999 John Shirley Ltd pioneered the use of tried and trusted East European hauliers in loading from North East Italy to Northern Europe. This service flourished as the company encouraged more and more hauliers to obtain the relevant permits, such that now we are able to provide considerable capacity to and from destinations such as :
Udine, Vicenza, Treviso, Venice, Bolzano and Verona.

In 2000/2001 for example we were providing 5 to 10 trucks per day Udine to Daventry carrying alcopops, prior to their switch to rail transport.

We have regular bookings from customers seeking to maximize use of our high volume 95m3 and 120m3 vehicles. Our service is that of a well organized highly experienced forwarder, with drivers in communication by mobile phone or satellite communication.

As the bulk of the vehicles transit via Austria where emission standards are rigorous most of the trucks are of the very latest designs ensuring that goods arrive clean and dry whether the delivery is in Paris, London or Glasgow.
