Montenegro, General Information
Recently independent, Montenegro is small and as the name suggests, mountainous. Considerable freight goes to the shipyards at Bar but also to Kotor, Cetinje, Niksic and the capital Podgorica. The company enjoys excellent relations with the administration in Podgorica. Our stamp on the CMRs became very familiar to officials on the borders as we organised huge quanitities of shipments from all over Europe to Kosovo.
2010 developments
In early 2010, John Shirley Ltd has been nurturing new relationships with Montenegrin hauliers, expanding the company's partner base throughout the country. Here John Shirley is speaking with one of John Shirley Ltd's biggest hauliers who have been carrying out shipments between Niksic and the North of England.
Our offices in Dover are en route to the ferries destined for the continent. This allows regular contact with our designated trucks, either heading for UK destinations or returning to Montenegro.
